Just a tad behind!

A family tradition, since before I was even born. THE PINATA! Every Christmas Eve, someone would make the pinata. (Except when it was my turn, I would just buy one). But the youngest would always be up to bat first, then it goes up to the oldest. Usually the oldest kids didn't get a turn. It breaks before then. Then like a mad rush, all the kids grab at the candy. Imagine around 30 kids trying to get all the candy. It's a sight to see! Also a tradition, is the Nativity Scene. My sis-in-law, has made a great back drop, and we have gathered costumes through the years. This year, some of the older grandchildren, were the narrators. Grandma has kept track of who has been Mary. That is always the coveted position. This year, Ashlin was honored to be Mary. The cute sheep/cow is Korban. And usually we have a real baby as Jesus, but Kaylor is the youngest now, and he is just a tad big. The Nativity is always something the young kids look forward to. Christmas Morning!!!! What can I say....kind of a disappointment. This year, we were getting a WII. How exciting, right? Well, apparently I need to come up with a great hiding place.

A few days before Christmas, one of my children said that they wanted a pair of shoes from a certain place, with these certain colors on them. Guess what? I had got them already, (exactly like he discribed). So that told me that he had peeked. So it became a big talk around the house, how this certain young man peeked at his presents. So I told him that I was going to take everything back since he peeked.

Well, a different cute little child of mine, (I'll just call her Ashlin), came up to me and said. "Mom, he only saw his shoes. He didn't see the WII!"

REEEEALLY...is that right???

So, Chad and I came up with a fun little puzzle with a poem on it and we scattered all the pieces in the different stockings. The object was to make them have to find all the pieces and put them together to get a clue to where the WII was hidden. Which I thought would take a long time, and I thought that would be a good enough punishment for them for peeking.

Well, before they even got 2 pieces together, this same certain child that had peeked, was sitting there thinking and all of the sudden.......Went right to were the WII was hidden and found it!

NO PICTURE,

NO SURPRISE,

NO NOTHING!!!

What I thought would be the best present EVER, was the biggest BUST! I guess it was still great, but it just wasn't how I had planned.

So that was our Christmas, how was yours?
