The “Crafty” side in me- Cross Body Bags

Mishae had been wanting a Cross body bag for some time, but we never found “the one”.  So I decided I would try making one, even though I’m not the best at sewing things up.  So we headed into Walmart and found some cute fabric.  I googled shapes of bags, and came up with this one.  It took me a while to figure out how to do the inside, cuz I didn’t want my seams to show.  After a few attempts, I finally got it.  And I think it turned out pretty cute!  I was actually very proud of myself.

This purple one is for Ashlin.  I couldn’t just stop at Mishae.  So we had this old sweater dress that I cut up to make Ashlin’s.  I put some non stretchy fabric on the inside, so the sweater part wouldn’t stretch when ever they had books or whatever inside.  I made the strap long, but it ties up easy enough.  I really like this one.  The girls just switch the bags with each other, when ever they want a change.

This next bag is refashioned from an old dress that Bailey bought to wear on Dr. Seuss day.  She found it at the DI with this matching belt I used for the strap.  The gathered part of the bag was already gathered on the dress.  I just added the lace to separate the gathered area from the flat area.  The flower is just a bunch of circles folded and then sewn together.  I think this one turned out so dang cute.

I didn't know you had all this in you? I don't think my girls can see this or they will want you as their mom.
